Our audience
Bab al-Ridha Kids is designed for children and families, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in the applicable jurisdiction). We do not require users to create an account and do not knowingly ask children to submit their name, email address, telephone number, precise location, contacts, photographs, or other direct identifying information.
Parents and guardians may contact us at any time at [email protected] with questions or requests concerning a child’s information.
Information we collect
Information stored on the device
The app stores the following information locally on the device so that its features work:
- language preference;
- favorite stories;
- downloaded stories; and
- playback progress.
This information is not uploaded to our servers as part of an account because the app does not provide user accounts. It can generally be removed by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app.
Push notifications
If notifications are enabled, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver optional notifications about new stories and app updates. For this purpose, we and our service providers may process the Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token, language preference, device or user-agent information, and token registration and update timestamps.
Notifications can be declined when requested or disabled later through the app or the device’s settings. We use the token only to provide and manage these notifications; we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Limited usage and technical information
When stories are played, completed, or downloaded, our services may record limited event information, including the story, event type, language, platform, listening duration, and a short-lived hashed session identifier. The identifier is generated from technical request information such as the IP address and user-agent together with the date, and is used for aggregate usage statistics and service operation. We do not use this information to create user profiles or identify a child by name.
Our hosting and service infrastructure may also process standard technical information, such as IP address, browser or device information, and request timestamps, in server logs for security, troubleshooting, and reliable operation.
How we use information
- provide audio stories and related app features;
- remember local preferences, favorites, downloads, and playback progress;
- send optional notifications requested by the user or enabled on the device;
- understand aggregate story usage, such as plays, completions, and downloads;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the services; and
- respond to privacy questions and requests.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the information described in this policy for targeted advertising, behavioral advertising, or cross-app tracking. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to support push notifications. Firebase may process information as necessary to provide that service. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
Our content and API services are hosted and delivered through service infrastructure used to operate kids.babalridha.com. Service providers may process technical information on our behalf and only for the purposes described in this policy or to provide their services to us.
Children’s privacy and parental choices
We aim to minimize data collection from children. The app does not require an account and does not knowingly collect a child’s name, contact details, precise location, or other direct identifying information.
If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to us, or wants to ask what information may be associated with a device or request deletion, please email [email protected]. We will review and respond to the request as required by applicable law.
Retention
We retain notification tokens only for as long as they are needed to provide notifications and remove invalid or inactive tokens when identified. We retain usage records and technical logs only for as long as reasonably necessary for aggregate reporting, security, troubleshooting, service operation, and legal obligations. Local app data remains on the device until it is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where a user lives. Where required, we take appropriate steps to protect information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the effective date above.
